Genesis 12:3 (NIV)
I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”
For as long as I can remember, I had very detailed and descriptive dreams. I can certainly relate to Joseph’s life. (Gen 37:5-10) My dreams were always about traveling and meeting different people; about my future, about nations, about the circumstances people are in like the fatherless and lost. It was only recently that I began to remember and understand where the dreams all started and why I developed such a heart for people and specifically the Jewish people.
I received that blessing from my beautiful mother who worked in Deal, NJ as a domestic worker for the Rubin family. This wonderful Jewish family not only employed my mother, but opened their hearts to my sister and I as young children. It was the relationship between the Rubin family and mine that nurtured my heart and vision as I grew up in the 50’s and 60’s in the heat of racism. Was this coincidental, NO WAY,… it was the launching pad that set me on the journey to fulfill my purpose and destiny.
My story and our story is really a reflection of the heart of God. He created us to bless the nations. God said, “Ask of me and I will give you the nations (all people groups) as your inheritance.” In the last days, we as His adopted sons and daughters should work along side our Jewish brothers and sisters until we become one. Jesus our Messiah will return to Jerusalem to set up His kingdom.
